It is based on 'Something's Got a Hold on Me' from Etta James.
The track with it's catchy and percussive melody and pumping groove
- with room for a rhythmic intermezzo - suits a percussion ensemble nicely
and is a recognizable and uplifting track for your concert.

It is a sunny solo for marimba with accompaniment of percussion ensemble.
A nice showcase for the beginnning 3-mallet marimba player.

melodic counterparts.

Beta rhythm is a term from neurological science. 

Electrical brain activity is divided into 'rhythms'; Theta and Delta rhythms concern sleep and Alpha and Beta Rhythms concern brain activity in awake state. 

The Beta Rhythm, seen as flashing neurons, occurs when the brain is in a state of exertion and arousal.

The melodic basic motif serves as the starting point for these impulses.

The flashes are represented by the different splash cymbals.

Then the brain activity goes into full action, depicted by the pumping dubstep beat and fiery solos in battery percussion and timpani.

The sensitive ballad in a modern country-style by the Common Linnets
has become a real song festival classic.

With their 2nd place for the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014 they conquered,

This concert piece is based on the polar regions with their surreal landscapes,
icy blizzards but also the beautiful northern lights.
Because of the abstract landscapes,
the composer used 12-tone technique: dodecaphony.
This is mixed with tonal music.
In this way amateur musicians come into contact with
modern tonalities in an accessible way.

This beautiful and enchanting Scottish folk tune dates back to the 18th century.
The original lyrics give praise to Love in the most poetic and gentle way:
'My love is like a red red rose
That's newly sprung in june;
O my Love's like the melody
That's sweetly play'd in tune'
The sonority of the marimbas and the beautiful melodic lines in
the vibraphone and glockenspiel capture the essence of the song.

It is a marvelous blend of mystery, horror and a coming-of-age story.

Situated in the Eighties, it evokes a lot of nostalgic feelings with the viewer.

The music is perhaps the show's secret ingredient.

consisting three recognisable theme's from the series:
MAIN THEME, KIDS and ELEVEN.

A minimum of nine players is required. 

If You have more players at Your disposal they may be helpful

to the bassdrum and xylo parts.

added for ensembles with additional percussionists.

Synergy is a synthesis in rhythm and movement for 8 tom tom players.

After the build-up where each player is presented the piece becomes a pulsating ode to rhythm

and groove. The musical structure is created by the alternating accents & rhythms

between the eight players. This creates also a great visual effect.

The piece takes a breath during the transparant rim and stickings 

intermezzo before returning back to the frantic pace.
